Does the title say it all? This deeply dark and rich cake goes the extra mile enhanced with cherry and liqueur to make a sophisticated and elegant dessert.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 8

  • 10½ oz (297 g) semisweet chocolate chopped
  • 6 oz (¾ cup) unsalted margarine
  • 6 large eggs separated at room temperature
  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cherry liqueur
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp kosher salt

 

Ganache
        • 3½ oz (100 g) good quality chocolate

¼ cup whipping cream3 Tbsp cherry or coffee liqueur

 

Spiked Cherry Garnish
  • 1 cup dried cherries
