I get many questions before Yom Tov about putting on makeup that will last as long as possible. Here are some of our most frequently asked questions, and some tried-and-true answers.
Mascara That Lasts

Q: My mascara is always flaking and running under my eyes by the first morning; how can I make it last longer?

A: Usually, the culprit of running mascara is oily eyelids. They transfer onto your lashes and cause the product to break down. You can try to minimize the oiliness by using a good eyeshadow primer or concealer to prime your lids. Then set a powder on and around your lids and under your eyes to reduce oil production and prevent smudging.

Make sure you’re using a waterproof or tubing mascara. My favorite tubing mascaras are the Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Tubing Mascara and the Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara.
