Where do the fish come from?
Most of the animals at an aquarium come from fish farms zoos and other aquariums. Aquariums tend to be located near oceans and bays and their staffs often rescue animals that were hurt or stranded on the coast later adding these animals to their displays. Other fish are caught in the ocean and seas and transported to aquariums with special equipment and cases to expose visitors to the beauty of the underwater world.
What do they eat?
Aquariums need huge kitchens to prepare all the food they feed their animals each day. Most sea creatures in aquariums are fed the same foods they consume in the wild (for example shrimp krill clams or other fish) or specially prepared food that is similar to what they’re used to eating. Vitamins or medicines are added to the food when necessary. The aquarium staff like the staff at a zoo keeps track of how much food and how many feedings a day each individual species needs. Often aquariums will allow visitors to watch the fish and other animals get fed.
