Two-Part Harmony

Sliding into their seats just before the bell rang, the sixth grade girls of Bnos Rochel could tell something was up from looking at Mrs. Maor’s face. Her warm brown eyes twinkled, and her lips curved upward in a small smile.

Two-Part    Harmony

“Our class is going to do a choir for Chanukah girls” Mrs. Maor began. “All women in the community will be invited to a fundraiser and loads of fun rolled into one. Practice will start tomorrow after school im yirtzeh Hashem. Questions?”

“Will there be solos?” Shira wanted to know blushing when 19 pairs of eyes turned to stare at her. It was no secret that Shira had a stunning voice.

“Most definitely” Mrs. Maor replied.

“You’re a shoo-in Shira don’t worry” Kayla called out and Shira’s blush turned crimson.
