If you’re north of the equator such as in North America you’ll see Aquarius in the evening southern sky during the autumn. If you’re south of the equator like in Australia those months are their springtime. So in Australia you’ll see Aquarius high overhead or in the northern sky during the spring. Aquarius is located in a part of the southern sky sometimes called “the Sea.” It’s called that because it looks so dark and deep but of course there are stars there too though it’s hard to see them unless it’s a very dark night. Many many years ago stargazers associated the star patterns here with water in a celestial (heavenly) sea. In “the Sea” we find the constellations of Pisces the Fish; Cetus the Whale; Piscis Austrinus the Southern Fish; and Eridanus the River.
