Who wants to travel back in time and take a trip around the world? Lets hightail it over to Kansas City, Missouri, where we can do both in one quick swoop — but keep your eyes wide open ... if you blink, you might miss it! Most of it is tiny!

Welcome to the Toy and Miniature Museum of Kansas City! This is a thirty-eight-room mansion built in 1911 that boasts the largest collection of old-fashioned toys and fine-scale miniatures in the Midwest. In the 1950s a woman named Barbara Marshall started her collection of dollhouses and miniatures and she was joined by her long-time friend Mary Harris Francis a few years later. Mary’s mother used to tease the two friends about having a collection so large that they could start a museum … and so they did! In 1982 their museum officially opened to the public. Which just goes to show always listen to your mother!
