Thump. Can you feel your heartbeat? After running, can you hear your pulse pounding in your ears? Every heartbeat pumps blood through your body. Hearts are also a symbol of emotions. That’s why we say in Shema, “V’hayu hadevarim ha’eileh … al levavecha” - we are supposed to feel strongly about the mitzvos.
It is in the middle of your chest between the two lungs. It is on a slant: the top is wider and points left the bottom is narrower and points to the right. The mezuzah on every door is also on a slant from left to right!
