Start by placing your flashlight where it shines on the wall. Put your hands between the light and the wall so your hands make shadows on the wall. Move the flashlight around until you get the sharpest clearest shadow possible. Use the instructions below to get started making some shadow images but don’t stop there. Keep experimenting and positioning your hands in different ways to see what images you can create. The possibilities are endless! Note: The closer your hands are to the flashlight the larger but less precise your shadow will be. FYI: Why does this work? Light can pass through some objects and is blocked by others. Where the light is blocked we see shadows. Our bodies are opaque; light cannot travel through them.
