DR MITZVAH

D.M.E. Doctor of Mostly Everything: Sinai Stones,One sunny, springy afternoon, as Dr. Mitzvah stepped out the house for a breath of fresh air, he bumped into a group of neighborhood children marching into his yard. First in line was Akiva. He had just returned from a visit toIsrael to see his grandparents. He was carrying a box. It looked heavy.

Akiva came in and opened the box peeled away the layers of paper and took out a stone the size and shape of a football. “There it is ” he said. “Isn’t it beautiful? We were on a tour of Har Sinai and I found it on top of the mountain. I showed it to the tour guide and he said it was just a plain stone and I could take it if I wanted it. But I thought that if it comes from Har Sinai where the Torah was given it must be a holy stone. So I took it home. I soaked it and scrubbed it and look what came out!”

The children came closer for a better look. It was a very beautiful stone indeed. Jagged shiny translucent and bluish. It looked like the sky. “Hmm …” said Dr. Mitzvah “it is a most unusual stone.”
