Wednesday Feb 27 After two weeks of calling calling calling we’re finally ready to go ahead. Tatty spoke to the bochur’s rosh yeshivah friends neighbors and everyone else he thought could shed light on this shidduch suggestion. I’ve never seen Tatty on the phone so much — the receiver was glued to his ear for hours each evening. I know what’s important to me in a husband and Tatty and I sat down and discussed how it compared to the information he received. Middos — check. Yiras Shamayim — check. Simchas hachayim — check. Generous caring giving strong connection to a mashpia sensitive emotionally healthy — check check check and check. And then there are the bonuses: tall and handsome; sense of humor; warm stable family; chassidishe varemkeit. Is it too perfect to be true? Does this boy I’ve heard so much about really exist?
