I used to bring my new songs to my rebbe, the Yeshuos Moshe of Vizhnitz zy”a, and there was one occasion when he said to me “Ich hob zeyer lib der niggunim. Zei geben a tzip in der neshumeh — I very much enjoy these niggunim. They give a ‘pinch’ to the soul.” That’s probably the most precious compliment I ever got.
