Nonny Bear and the Marathon

Everyone is talking about the marathon. It’s not like I don’t understand why this marathon is exciting. What I don’t understand is why everyone has to talk about the marathon all the time. I mean, aren’t there other, more interesting things to talk about? Like bluebirds, for example. Aren’t they so very blue?

Nonny Bear and the Marathon
“Hey Nonny!” called my friend Rafi in yeshivah. “Who’s gonna be running you in the marathon?” “I don’t know yet ” I said. “ProbablyGavrielFarber.” I don’t like imposing on people. If someone was going to push my wheelchair all the way to the finish line (because this was a marathon powered by people and not by electric wheelchairs and I was not a cheater!) then it ought to be someone getting paid to do it. Gavriel often has off on Sundays the day of the marathon but I was sure he’d want to come anyway.
