School Administrator ,Meet somebody who’s been busy nonstop with school work while you were enjoying your (well-deserved) vacation. He’s been ordering new desks and fixing broken windows while you were cheering for your color-war team in camp or enjoying ices at the pool. Meet Mr. Dovid Katz, school administrator at Gateshead Jewish Primary School, England.
What does a school administrator do?
In a word school administrators keep the school running smoothly. I make sure the teachers have everything they need to teach and that the school is attractive-looking tidy and safe. I ensure the building is properly cleaned; that repairs are carried out; that the heating lighting and office machines work. I order any stock or new furniture that staff need. I’m also first-aid trained and I volunteer for Hatzolah so I deal with scratched knees and bumps and bruises.
I’m based on the boys’ site but I’m responsible for both the boys’ and girls’ schools. In all we have 500 children in two large buildings on different sites and over 120 staff … all of whom have to be kept happy!
