Mr. Mishkowitz said he once asked the Rosh Yeshivah why bochurim seemed to be dependent on him, asking him for direction even in seemingly trivial matters. The Rosh Yeshivah answered that being a mechanech is not limited to teaching Torah, but includes roles way beyond the classroom.
