Weeks before Pesach, we start scrubbing the furniture, the toys, and the walls in our houses taking care to get rid of every speck of chometz. But did you know that there are people who are hard at work getting ready for Pesach long before us? Let’s take a look at some of the companies that help make Pesach such a pleasure for us.
On the Seder night we display all of our best dishes to celebrate our freedom. Some of these dishes are made of sliver. Six months before Pesach the silversmiths at Hazorfim in Israel are already busy handcrafting Seder plates matzoh holders cups for Eliyahu HaNavi and the special wine fountains that make it so easy to give out Kiddush wine.
Hazorfim was established in 1952 when Yosef Merdinger and two partners from Romania started handcrafting silver items in a humble kitchen. Later they moved their business into a warehouse in Tel Aviv. In 1994 Merdinger moved his business to Kfar Daniel just off the highway that runs from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
