How can we be zocheh to a good, sweet year? Chazal tell us the secret: teshuvah, tefillah, and tzedakah will remove any evil decree. Over the next three weeks, we’re going to focus on each of these in turn. This week, we’ll look at the way some kids decided to make amends.
Teshuvah — Writing Home
Dear Tatty and Mommy
You asked me to take Shira along when I went to visit Shuli and I didn’t want to I really didn’t. So I told you that it wasn’t fair and I said a lot of other stuff besides. Stuff that I shouldn’t have said. Even as I said them I could see you were disappointed in me. When I went to my bedroom I cried. I was upset but it wasn’t just that. I wasn’t proud of myself.
Mommy you said that you’re happy to discuss it when I don’t want to do something but that I shouldn’t talk in a chutzpahdig way.
So I’m writing to apologize. I’m sorry that I spoke like that. I’ll try not to in the future.
Lots of love
Ruchelle
