“This is it. This is totally it,” Devorah took out a pair of scissors and carefully cut out the full-color ad from the local circular as they sat at her kitchen table. “We’re signing up. This is what we’ve been waiting for.”

“A fruit sculpting course?” Chavi asked. Her wrinkled nose gave her away. “Exactly. Sculpting carving whatever you want to call it. All those amazing fruit and vegetable platters you see at simchahs? All those amazing photos in the magazines? Soon we’ll be able to make them too. Radishes that look like birds tomato flowers red pepper parrots the works!” “They really are pretty ” Chavi admitted as she studied the photos in the ad. “But it looks like a lot of work. And isn’t the course expensive?”
