Zeidy Zakon: Israel in Cheshvan

Hi, kinderlach. Today we’re going to a very, very special place, a place that Jews have been visiting for more than 2,000 years. (And it’s not the Kosel!)

Zeidy Zakon: Israel in Cheshvan

Rabbi Nachman and Miriam Zakon

Where are we going?

See that picture on my wall?

Which picture Zeidy? You have so many.

The picture of a small stone building with a dome on it that’s built right on the side of the road.

Wow Zeidy that’s Kever Rochel!

You recognized it very good. We are going to where Yaakov Avinu buried Rochel on the side of the road right outside the city of Beis Lechem. Rochel’s yahrtzeit is actually this month on the 11th day of Cheshvan.

Is Kever Rochel far?

No only about six miles outside of Yerushalayim. It’s about a 20-minute ride from Har Nof. Now it’s time to go-go-go!
