Crispy Tuna Sliders

Crispy Tuna Sliders

I don’t know about you, but for some reason, I favor store-bought tuna over homemade. That’s why these tasty tuna sliders appeal to me so much; besides the tempting, crispy coating, the taste of the tuna is really delicious and flavorful. Using a Betty Crocker makes the job simple and quick too!

Serves 4–6

  •  2 cans tuna, drained
  • 1 cup Sour Cream ’n Onion Nish Nosh Crackers, crushed
  • 1 cup finely diced celery
  • 1/2 cup finely diced red onion
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 heaping Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • salt and black pepper, to taste
  • cornflake crumbs, for coating
  • 6 pretzel buns
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped lettuce
  • 1/2 cup pickle dip or relish
  • sliced tomato

Place tuna, crushed crackers, celery, red onion, eggs, mayonnaise, sugar, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl; stir until well combined. Pour some cornflake crumbs into a shallow dish. With wet hands, form the tuna mixture into thick, flat patties and coat them in cornflake crumbs on both sides.

Spray the Betty Crocker liberally with cooking spray. Place the patties on the surface and spray the tops with cooking spray. Cook, covered, for 5–7 minutes, then flip. Cover the Betty Crocker and continue to cook for an additional 4–5 minutes, or until browned.

Remove the patties from the Betty Crocker and repeat with the remaining tuna mixture.
