D.M.E., Doctor of Mostly Everything: Wise Men and Quiet Queens,The Elder Home was usually a quiet, peaceful place. But today wasn’t very peaceful. Today the residents were arguing. It was all about the big Purim play they were planning for Cedarville.

The only problem was that no one was willing to be Haman or Vashti or Achashveirosh! All the ladies wanted to be Esther and all the men insisted on being Mordechai!

Judy Lewinsky Cedarville’s artist was directing the play. “We can’t have a Purim play without Haman and Vashti and Achashveirosh!” she kept saying. “And we only need one Esther and one Mordechai!” But no one would listen. So she went to discuss the problem with Dr. Mitzvah.

“Of course they all want to be Esther or Mordechai” he said. “All the residents of the ElderHome are older. They’ve lived longer learned more and are wiser. Why would they want to be someone bad or foolish even for Purim?
