The call came in just as some sweet young voice was about to hit the high notes of “Ravrevin ” ending the aura of peacefulness and longing in Yehudis’s minivan. The caller ID saidJacobHershler. “Hello Mrs.Horowitz? This is Yanky Hershler calling from Musix.” “Oh hi.” “Uh Mrs.Horowitz I understand that you’re upset and you’re not giving your okay for the final draft of the song.” “True.” “Listen Mrs.Horowitz. I understand that people get very attached to their work artists especially. Believe me I’ve seen a lot in the music industry — I work with many talented people across the board and they all care about what they’re doing. I can’t say it’s always a cup of tea.” He paused. She kept quiet. “Mrs.Horowitz I’m not a composer or a songwriter just a producer but I have a good sense of when something’s good. I’m telling you not just because I want to do what’s easy but because it’s one hundred percent true that I don’t think it’s worth your energy to make a big deal about that line.”
