Arachnid is the scientific name given to spiders scorpions ticks and mites — with over 75 000 species living everywhere from rain forests to deserts to your bedroom pillow. That’s right. Your bedroom might be housing an arachnid this very moment although you may not see it since most arachnids are eight-legged microscopic creatures smaller than your hand.
