Baked Breaded Gefilte Fish

This fish is a Shabbos staple in my house. I make it every week.

  • 1 loaf frozen gefilte fish
  • 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp bread crumbs (see note)

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Remove the fish from the packaging. (It helps to rinse the fish under warm water so the parchment paper peels off easily.) Place the fish in a greased baking dish and brush the outside of the loaf with mayonnaise. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and bake uncovered for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Note: You can also use panko crumbs, cracker crumbs, or any other crispy topping.
