What’s summer vacation time for you isn’t ever vacation time for Rochel of Uniform Headquarters in Monsey. Most students in the Monsey area will pass through the doors of Rochel’s school uniform store before school starts, so they’re ready to face the new school year wearing their school uniform.
Hi Rochel. Can you tell us how you started in the uniform business?
It all began nine years ago when my six-year-old daughter was going into first grade. There were a few clothing stores in Monsey that carried uniforms but they used to run out of sizes and stock very quickly. When I realized I’d have to travel to Brooklyn to buy my daughter a uniform I called the uniform manufacturers inBrooklynand offered to sell uniforms for my daughter’s school to make it easier for all the mothers. One of themanufacturers liked my idea and asked me to sell uniforms for many of the schools in the Monsey area. Today Uniform Headquarters sells uniforms for approximately 20 different schools.
