The men decided to go to Shlomo HaMelech for advice. After all, he was so wise; surely he would figure out who the thief was.
Before Shabbos came in the three discussed what to do with their money. They decided to hide the money in a safe place until after Shabbos.
When Shabbos was over the men packed up their belongings and went to retrieve their money from its hiding place. Horror of horrors the sack of gold coins was gone! There was no sign of it anywhere!
