Hi! It’s me — Dovi. My rebbi, Rabbi Wikler, said that there’s a difference between the Kavod and Yirah (the Honor and Awe) we have to show to our parents and our Torah teachers and the respect and politeness we have to show other people. Our parents and those who teach us the Torah way of life are those who give us life in Olam HaZeh (This World) and Olam HaBa (World to Come), and for this reason they are “in a class by themselves.”
Noise? I thought. What kind of noise?? But I didn’t say a word. Not a peep; it wasn’t my place to say anything.
When they left Tatty said “Dovi I’m really proud of you; you didn’t say a word! Both of these wonderful men have grown up children already so they don’t have too much patience for ‘boys’ noise’…. But it could very well be that they were just as lively when they were young!”
