The Line That Speaks to Me

"When I think about these Yidden...who don’t even know what a sefer Torah contains, it tears my heart apart"

The Line That Speaks to Me
Is there a phrase or lyrics from a vintage English song that’s still special for you years later?

“And in a case of glass they put me on display, where visitors would look at me and say,

‘How very nice, how beautiful, a stunning work of art,’ but they knew not what was inside my heart..” (From “The Place Where I Belong” by Abie Rotenberg, Journeys 1.)

Why? Because when I think about these Yidden — and there are so many of them — who have no inkling as to the beauty and the depth of Yiddishkeit, who don’t even know what a sefer Torah contains, it tears my heart apart.
