The Music Man

Even if you don’t know the name Velvel Pasternak you’ve probably hummed, sang, or danced to many of the authentic Jewish songs that he’s rediscovered, recorded, and transcribed. Equally at home at the musically renowned chassidic courts of Modzitz and Bobov as at the more contemporary musical “courts” of Shlomo Carlebach and others, for the past half century he has been the man behind the preservation of the best of Jewish music.
