“Purim is unique in that the mitzvos hayom are mostly focused on bein adam l’chaveiro. Perhaps the reasoning is because the neis of Purim happened in chutz l’Aretz, and when we’re in chutz l’Aretz, the key to survival is only through drawing one another close and being there for each other.”

A guest at the home of a noted philanthropist on Leil Purim, as checks containing mind-boggling sums were being dispersed to myriad solicitors, all collecting for worthy causes.
